Wifi Antenna? what is it.

A wifi antenna is an external antenna connected to a computer related device that uses the 802.11 standard. They can be used to connect: Router to router, computer to computer, or router to computer(s). Using wifi saves you the hassle of having to wire a whole network, and gives your computers the freedom to be where they want, within your wifi's range. There are many different kinds of wifi antennas that you can get, but selecting one depends on what kind of network you want to set up. If you want to set up a network that is widespread but less in range you would use an omni directional antenna. Most routers, such as my Linksys wrt54g router, comes equipped with 2 omni directional antennas out of the box. Some router let you have the option of swapping antennas though. If your looking to do a more directional connection (say you and your neighbor want to share wireless) you would want to go more along the lines of a yagi wifi antenna, which is directional and high powered. You could connect a yagi antenna to your router, or just a simply USB interface right to your computer. Now lets say you want a very directional connection (maybe trying to connect to somebody a mile or two down the road), You may want to check into a grid wifi antenna. These bad boys are modeled after a satellite dish. They are very directional and very high powered. Whether you choose directional or not, going wifi can make your life easy and more flexible. If your looking to buy one of these antennas please check out my store Thanks for reading!

Another grid wifi antenna!

Hello all, welcome to my blog again! I have been posting about all different kinds of antennas here and ones that I suggest you use. One of my favorites is a grid wifi antenna. They are powerful and directional. I referenced one earlier that was 24DBI at a little over 60$. In some cases you may not need that much power so if your looking for a cheaper alternative I would suggest this 19DBI grid wifi antenna.

USB wifi antenna.

Having portability is sometimes ideal for your situation right? USB wifi antennas are compact and decently powered. I like having USB wifi antennas because there painless to set up. If your interested in one of these please check out the antenna I use and recommend.

Outdoor wifi antenna

Researching outdoor wifi antennas? Well you've come to the right place. Lets say you have a barn that's pretty far away from your router. As we all know, running a cable that far could be a pain in the butt. I know this from previous experience. I ran a 200 foot cable from my old house to my garage and it was not fun. Plus with that long of a cable think of all the packet loss you'd get. Now that I am older and smarter with computers I look back and think well I should have just got an outdoor wifi antenna. Directional outdoor antennas are available on the market, are easy to set up, and should solve and outdoor wifi problem you may have. Check out the store, there is a decent outdoor wifi antenna for sale there that should suit your needs.

Yagi Wifi Antenna

If your looking for a high powered wifi solution, like your router is to far away from your computer, you may want to check into getting a yagi wifi antenna. They are commonly about 1-2 feet long and can come with an n connector or USB. These antennas are high powered. I know somebody who had a yagi antenna and they also happen to live downtown. When we put this bad boy out the window we could see 40+ networks, and that's amazing. If you think this would be for you please head over to the store and check out the yagi wifi antenna there.

Hello all, A wifi antenna is an antenna created to be used with computers. Choosing to use wifi antennas in your home network can be a smart choice. One thing you have to consider when choosing your wifi antennas is what kind you need. You could need a regular omni-directional wifi antenna, an outdoor wifi antenna, a directional wifi antenna, or a grid wifi antenna.
